Bu ders, öğrencilerin uluslararası hukuk rejimiyle bağlantılı olarak çevre sorunlarını anlamalarını sağlamak amacıyla tasarlanmıştır. Çevre sorunları, dünya devletlerinin küresel ortak çıkarları ve gezegeni korumak için kritik önem taşıdığından, uluslararası hukukta zaten önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. Ders, iklim değişikliği, ozon tabakasının incelmesi, ormansızlaşma, türlerin neslinin tükenmesi gibi küresel çevresel zorlukların incelenmesini içerir. Ayrıca, küresel çevresel tehditler karşısında devletler, uluslararası kuruluşlar, çok uluslu şirketler ve sivil toplum kuruluşları gibi çeşitli uluslararası aktörlerin işlevlerini ve tepkilerini analiz eder. Avrupa Birliği'nin çevre sorunları ile ilgili küresel bir aktör olarak rolü de analiz edilecektir. Ders, esas olarak uluslararası hukuk disiplini perspektifinden öğretilse de, çevre felsefesi, siyaset bilimi ve ekolojik ekonomiyi bir araya getiren multidisipliner bir yaklaşıma ve amaca sahiptir. |
