Course Objectives Students are provided with sufficient background on the history of discourse analysis, and with the ability of employing specific discourse analysis methods to a variety of texts.
Course Content This course includes the discussion on the concept of ‘discourse’, and ‘discourse analysis’, and a wide range of discourse studies.
Learning Outcomes (LO) Upon successful completion of the course: 1. Studenst will be able to define concepts relating discourse and discourse anaşysis and will be able to distinguish them. 2. Students will comprehend the relationship between function an structure in the scope of discourse analysis. 3. Students will comprehend the relationship between text and context. 4. Students will become knowledgeable about the approaches towards the analysis of oral and written discourse samples. 5. Studenst will be able to analyze oral and written discourse samples.
