General Information

The establishment of Ufuk University Vocational High School has been approved by the 758550160-101.02.05.3289-25391 numbered and 15.05.2013 dated writing of Council of Higher Education Chair in accordance with the 7/d-2 article of 2547 numbered Higher Education Law.

Qualification Awarded

The students who complete this programme successfully, get the degree of Vocational High School Associate Degree and graduates of the programme gain the title of “Business Management Member of Profession”. In addition, they can have the right to complete the Business Undergraduate Programme.

Admission Requirements

Our vocational high school provides training for two year associate degree education by taking students according to YGS-6 score category. Our school’s quota is defined as 50 students for 2014-2015 academic year.

Arrangements for the Recognition of Prior Learning

Some students studying at Ufuk University can be exempt from some lessons within the frame of particular instructions. The student can be held exempted from from a lesson if the content of the course (taken from another school) is consistent with the course given at Ufuk University and if the content is confirmed by the related faculty/institute.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The student whose academic term grade point average or general grade point average is 2.00 out of 4.00, is a successful student. A student has to take 60 (CC). Over 60 points is regarded as successful in a lesson; in order to be a graduate, a student has to provide 120 AKTS credit in total by achieving all compulsory and elective courses and s/he has to complete her/his 30 days internship.

Profile of the Programme

The aim of Business Management Programme is to raise graduates that will meet the need of qualified manpower endowed with information and skill that can meet the needs of global world. In line with this purpose, the courses in the programme are combining theory and practice. One of the most important purpose of the programme is to offer the students an education in accordance with the most current strategic, administrative and sectoral developments that the students may encounter in professional life; to prepare the students as the manager candidates for business world by providing them a management vision focused on today’s and future’s business world.

PO5To have information about the basic methods used in accounting and how these methods are carried out in business world

PO6To recognize the marketting functions and applications in business world, being able to make market research and use the market communication needed after the research

PO7To know how to use computer and necessary programs

PO8To be able to carry out basic principles of project management and business process

PO9To have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing

PO10To be able to create quality-oriented approach plans

PO11To be able to develop business analysis that target correct investments within sector and do the mathematical follow-ups

 

 

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

In our country, along with the diversification and development of economic and commercial life and effective management of companies has increasingly gained more importance and value. In order to maintain its activities by developing, businesses must necessarily gain. This is possible to be a good manager at work. Professional managers use their knowledge of business management in practice the right way. Theoretical and practical information about all functions of a business are taught to the students with the associate degree in business administration education. By the quick way to begin to work, the staff is trained in order to support management positions in businesses. Graduates will have a chance to practice their gained knowledge in primarily to their own small-scale businesses or in the family businesses. Graduates will be able to function in each business unit in large businesses at first; by gaining experiencing they will be able to work as an assistant in management positions.

 

They are able to find jobs as an intermediate staff in the business world, including also the private sector or the public sector in all businesses, in marketing, finance, accounting, banking, insurance, public relations, personnel (human resources) areas, and in the industrial and commercial enterprises.  Some of these job opportunities are: They have the opportunity to find a job in the offices of independent accountant, independent accountant and financial advisor, and certified councillorship, in financing, accounting, marketing, personnel, purchasing and public relations departments of large and small business, in accounting, personnel departments of the various state institutions and in tax offices, in investment and financial institutions, and in public and private banks.

 

 

Access to Further Studies

In case of fulfillment of the terms of relevant regulations, students are able to continue theirfour-year degree programs of Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

In the program, various evaluation methods such as quizzes, midterms, practices, projects, exercises and final exams. Criteria to be adopted in the evaluation of students' success (such as midterms, homeworks and final exams) and percentages are specified in the syllabi which are handed out to students or announced on the university website. Final exams are conducted in the assigned date, time, and place which are announced by the university. Final grades are determined by the professors/teaching assistans responsible for the class depending on midterm and final scores as well as practices within the semester and the rules of absenteeism. In order to graduate, students have to have at least 2.00 GPA. Final grade consists of the evaluation criteria stated above and signified with letter grades. Letter grades and corresponding grade points are as following;

FF2: The right to take the exam was not earned on account of absenteeism

P: Progressing

Graduation Requirements

In order to graduate, students have to complete 120 ECTS credtis by succeeding in all the compulsory and elective courses and by completing 30 days of compulsory internship.
