General Information

Establishing Ufuk University Vocational High School has been approved with article 7/d-2 of the council of Higher Education in accordance with the statute numbered 75850160-101.02.05.3289-25391.

Ufuk University Senate has resolved the opening Healthcare Management Department within the department of Administration and Organization department with the decision number 2014/04 on 19,03,2015.

Qualification Awarded

Students who complete this program successfully acquire Vocational High School Associate Degree and they will win the title of Department of Healthcare Management member of profession

Admission Requirements

Our School gives 2-year education by accepting students with YGS-6 score type. Our quota has been identified as 50 students for 2015-2016 education year. 

Arrangements for the Recognition of Prior Learning

Students studying in Ufuk University can be exempt from some courses in the frame work of certain regulations. Students may be exempt from that course on the condition that the content of the taken course matches the content of the course given by Ufuk University and approval given by the head of faculty/institution. 

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Student who has 2,00 over 4,00 for semester and general grade-point average is successful.  In order to be successful a student has to acquire 60 (CC) and over and in order to become a graduate he or she has to pass all obligatory and optional  lessons by making  120 AKTS credit and has to complete 30- days of training period.

Profile of the Programme

The aim of this program is to produce graduates who can response to human power requirement equipped with the necessity knowledge and abilities and answer the need of health institutions and global world. With this aim courses are designed to be carried out with the unity of theory and application. One of the most important aim of the program is to present students an education which goes in accordance with the current strategic, executive and sectorial developments and prepare them as a manager nomine focused on the working life of the future and give them a vision of management. 

Key Learning Outcomes

PO1. To have the core knowledge in the fields of Health Care Management and Business Administration.

PO2. To acknowledge what kind of planning, organization, leadership and control mechanisms will work in the organizational structure.

PO3. To have a comprehensive knowledge of the regulations related to their profession and to have legal responsibility considering the main judicial rules regulating the legal framework of business world that acknowledge human resources management along with employment and social security legislation.

PO4. To benefit from the data collection techniques regarding problem solving and decision making.

PO5. To have knowledge about the fundamental procedures used in accounting and the implementations of these procedures in business world.

PO6.  To be able to recognize the functions and implementations of marketing in business world, conduct researches and use the marketing communications they require.

PO7. To have knowledge about the use of computer and necessary programs.

PO8. To be able to implement the fundamental principles of business processes and project management techniques.

PO9. To have the ability of effective communication orally and in writing.

PO10. To be able to make quality-oriented approach chart plans within health care organizations.

PO11. To be able to develop business analyses that can aim at the right investments in sector and do mathematical tracing of them.

PO12. To be able to learn to work in cooperation with the doctor and auxiliary staff except doctors about medical functioning in health care organizations.

 

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

The progress, becoming varied of health sector in Turkey along with the development of economical dimension, the management of health institutions has become crucial. In order to grow and carry on the activities, health institutions have to derive a profit and this can be possible with the qualified administrators. Professional administrators apply their business administration knowledge in the most correct way. In the management of Department of Healthcare Management, students are taught theoretic and practical knowledge with the associate degree. The main purpose of this program is to train professional employees to work in health institutions or support administrators. Graduates will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in polyclinics, medical centers, private hospitals, medical centers and medical colleges.

The fact that the number of healthcare institutions have increased in recent years has brought the competition along. This situation made it necessary that as well as medical services, professional managers should work efficiently in order that health services are able to continue providing services, develop and survive. Healthcare managers  can work at public, university and foundation hospitals, private hospitals, rehabilitation centers, the health insurance related units of institutions  such as Emekli Sandığı, Bağkur, SSK,private medical companies,industrial institutions producing medicine and medical devices,and health research centers.Along with the increasing feeling that medical institutions should be managed with  a modern administrative mentality,the need for the qualified labour force will increase.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

In this program, many different assessment methods (quiz, midterm, assignment, practices, projects and final exam ) are applied. The criteria to be taken into consideration during the success assessment on courses (midterm, assignment, final etc.) and related ratio are specified in curriculum published on website or distributed to students at the beginning of the academic year. Final exams are conducted on announced dates, in specified places and times. Success notes of students at the end of every semester are determined by the responsible instructor in accordance with the studies conducted during the semester and attendance rules. Minimum 2.00 GPA is required for graduation. Course grade consists of the assessment  and is determined with a note letter. 

Graduation Requirements

Students to graduate must be passed all the courses in the program and there should be no , FF, FF1 and FF2 grade. Students in this program should  provide a minimum of 120 ECTS credits and a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00. In addition, the  internship of 240 hours to 30 business days needs to be made​​.
