Course Objectives The aim of the course “Sociology of Education” is to make students aware of the fact that education is a crucial fact in shaping the society and that this fact is fully integrated with all parts of society.
Course Content The course “Sociology of Education” includes analysing the interaction of education as a social fact and event to all parts of society from various scientific points of view.
Learning Outcomes (LO) The students who attended and were successful at the end of semester will acquire the followings: 1. Be aware of the importance of education as a social institution. 2. Be able to analyse issues in education from the point of various perspectives. 3. Know the relationship between the education and social stratification. 4. Be aware of the importance of the sociology of education. 5. Be able to discuss on current issues related to the relationship between education and society. 6. Be able to produce solutions for the problems stemmed from the interaction between the education and society.
