Course Objectives It aims to have the preservice teacher comprehended about approaches and models adult education and related concepts; to recognize lifelong learning practices in the Turkish education system.
Course Content The basic concepts of adult education; and concepts related to adult education (life-long education, public education, non-formal education, vocational education etc.); the historical background of adult education in Turkey; approaches and models related to adult education; the purpose, scope and historical development of lifelong learning; Lifelong learning practices in the Turkish education system.
Learning Outcomes (LO) 1. To define adult education and know the concepts related to adult education 2. To understand the historical development of adult education in Turkey 3. To know the approaches and models of adult education 4. To analyze the relationship between adults and learning 5. To understand the purpose of lifelong learning 6. T know the lifelong learning practices in the Turkish education system
