Course Objectives The main goal of this course is to describe sociology as a social science; but the most important goal is to provide students with the ability of analyzing what's happening around themselves in an multi-dimensional perspective; by doing so it is expected that they will be aware of human rights.
Course Content -
Learning Outcomes (LO) The students who attended the course and were successful at the end of semester will acquire the followings: 1. describe the basic notions of language and culture 2. recognize the sources and elements of culture 3. recognize spoken and written culture, material and non-material culture 4. explain the interaction between acculturation, semi-domestication; cultural spread and rapport 5. describe the language as symbolic systems and in front of structural-functional approaches 6. explain the interaction between culture, language and reality. 7. explain the cultural and communicational functions of language 8. recognize development and transmission in language and cultural and the dynamics of these 9. explain the interaction of cultural and linguistic changes 10. describe national culture, globalization, multilingualism, multiculturalism.
