Course Objectives The aim of this course is to enable teacher trainees to become competent on the procedures and methods of coursebook selection.
Course Content Physical, educational, visual design and language expression features and standards that should be in the textbook; the suitability of the contents of the textbooks to the program; content of some of the existing textbooks, language, suitability for student level, format, attractiveness, contribution to meaningful learning, use in teaching convenience etc. examination from different angles.
Learning Outcomes (LO) 1. Pre-service teachers recognize the concepts of textbook, teacher's guidebook and student workbook and know their properties; 2. Pre-service teachers recognize the textbook review and evaluation processes and know their features, 3. Pre-service teachers know the methods of reviewing and evaluating textbooks and know their features, 4. Pre-service teachers know how to choose textbooks suitable for different student profiles.
