Course Objectives |
The aim of this course is to enable teacher trainees to become competent on the procedures and methods of coursebook selection. |
Course Content |
Physical, educational, visual design and language expression features and standards that should be in the textbook; the suitability of the contents of the textbooks to the program; content of some of the existing textbooks, language, suitability for student level, format, attractiveness, contribution to meaningful learning, use in teaching convenience etc. examination from different angles. |
Learning Outcomes (LO) |
1. Pre-service teachers recognize the concepts of textbook, teacher's guidebook and student workbook and know their properties;
2. Pre-service teachers recognize the textbook review and evaluation processes and know their features,
3. Pre-service teachers know the methods of reviewing and evaluating textbooks and know their features,
4. Pre-service teachers know how to choose textbooks suitable for different student profiles. |
