Course Objectives |
1) In this course, students will be provided with the basic concepts and skills related to measurement and evaluation.
2) They will understand why the exam is necessary for students and teachers and to understand the differences between measurement and evaluation.
3) In addition, to make students understand the exam formats according to the purposes of the exam and the types of evaluation. |
Course Content |
Measurement tools and their properties used in education; Types of evaluation for different groups; Traditional tools and alternative tools; Written exams, oral exams, multiple choice exams, true-false exams, projects, presentations, peer evaluation. Demonstrating the student's knowledge and skills through various methods, observation, interview, performance evaluation, student product file; Issues that should be taken into consideration in evaluating student success. |
Learning Outcomes (LO) |
Students who attend classes and are successful will acquire the following course outcomes:
1) They will understand measurement tools and their properties.
2) They will recognize and understand traditional measurement tools based on traditional approaches.
3) To make students understand various measurement methods in order to reveal their knowledge and skills. (For example: research papers, projects, peer assessment, self-assessment, etc.).
4) Student teachers will understand the issues that should be taken into consideration when evaluating student achievements.
5) Evaluation and measurement of learning outcomes. |
