Course Objectives |
Introducing the definition, goals and processes of psychotherapy within the scope of both general and basic theoretical approaches. |
Course Content |
In this course, firstly, the definition of psychotherapy and psychotherapist, the process mechanism in psychotherapy, and the concepts of efficacy and effectiveness are introduced. Then, the case formulation which is a common feature in all psychotherapies, is introduced and practiced with various case examples.
At last, basic psychotherapy are introduced comparatively within the scope of personality, psychopathology and psychotherapy models. |
Learning Outcomes (LO) |
The students who attend the course and are successful at the end of semester will acquire the followings;
1- Defines the basic concepts related to the field of psychotherapy,
2- Evaluates the applicability, efficacy, and effectiveness of different psychotherapy approaches,
3- Presents the formulation of the cases presented, according to different approaches,
4- Critically compares different psychotherapy approaches. |
