Course Objectives To inform student about history, methods and subfields of psychology so that they will be able to select the subfield they want to focus and select elective classes congruent to their basic interests in their coming years of psychology education.
Course Content Preliminary introduction to the history, methods, subfields and basic topics of interest of psychology
Learning Outcomes (LO) On successful completion of the course students will have gained/acquired: 1- To be able to evaluate the development of psychology as a discipline from a historical perspective. 2- To be able to describe research methods and data collection techniques of psychology 3- To be able to define the branches of psychology 4-Summarizes the issue of nervous system and behavioral genetics 5- To be able to define principles and concepts related to basic processes such as sensation, perception, memory, learning motives and emotions 6- To be able to explain the roles of basic processes such as sensation, perception, memory, learning motives and emotions in determining behavior.
