Course Objectives To inform student about history, methods and subfields of psychology so that they will be able to select the subfield they want to focus and select elective classes congruent to their basic interests in their coming years of psychology education.
Course Content Preliminary introduction to the history, methods, subfields and basic topics of interest of psychology
Learning Outcomes (LO) On successful completion of the course students will have gained/acquired: 1-knowledge about history of psychology 2- knowledge about subfields of psychology 3- an understanding of scientific approach and research methods of psychology 4-knowledge about nervous system and genetic basis of behavior 5- knowledge about basic concepts of sensation and perception, learning, motivation and emotion 6-an understanding of the roles of perception, learning, motivation and emotions in determining behavior.
