Course Objectives The aim of the course is to introduce developmental psychology, which is a branch of psychology that examines the patterns of change from fertilization to death, within the framework of the life-span approach. It is also among the objectives of the course to introduce students to the basic and current methods, studies, and findings in the field of developmental psychology.
Course Content Physical, cognitive, socio-emotional characteristics of adolescence, early, middle and late adulthood as well as death and mourning will be examined within the scope of this course.
Learning Outcomes (LO) The students who completed the course and were successful will acquire the following achievements; 1-Define the basic concepts and theories about developmental psychology 2- Evaluate research methods and ethical principles of developmental psychology (COGNITIVE-ASSESSMENT) 3- Summarize the developmental characteristics during adolescence, adulthood and old age 4- Evaluate the contemporary issues about adolescence and adulthood period 5- Assemble the effects of individual, social and cultural factors on adult development 6- Describe death and mourning process
