Course Objectives This course serves as a general introduction to the field of cognitive psychology that is the scientific study of mental processes, of how the mind works (and fails to work).
Course Content An examination of the cognitive processes involved inhuman mentation. Includes the study of attention, perceptual, memory, executive function, problem solving and creativity, language, emotion, intelligence.
Learning Outcomes (LO) 1.Students will demonstrate understanding for the field of cognitive psychology. 2. Students will demonstrate a broader base of knowledge of attention, memory, problem solving, and the sensory system. 3. Students will have understanding of many theories of cognitive psychology. 4. Students will have a new perspective for the field of mental health after completing this course
