Course Objectives The main aim of this course is to recognize the basic concepts of cognitive psychology such as sensation, perception, attention, memory and language, to discuss the theories on which these concepts are based, to adapt the learned information to daily life and to show how different research findings in cognitive psychology can be evaluated.
Course Content This course deals with the cognitive processes of the human mind, which can be listed as attention, perception, memory, executive functions, creativity and problem solving, language, affect and intelligence.
Learning Outcomes (LO) The achievements of the students who complete and succeed in this course are as follows; 1. Realizes the relationship between the brain and human behavior. 2. Explain the basic concepts of cognitive psychology. 3. List the basic features of cognitive processes such as sensation, perception, attention, learning, memory and executive functions. 4. Compares the theories developed for cognitive functions. 5. Apply the knowledge gained in the classroom to improve our own cognitive processes.
