Course Objectives Introducing theoretical background and application of attachment theory.
Course Content Introducing the literature based findings about the development of early mother – infant relationship and the lifetime implications of attachment relationships. Focusing on the role of attachment relationship on the development of psychopathology Providing information on attachment measures, their ups and down, and how to decide appropriate attachment measures for a specific research.
Learning Outcomes (LO) 1- To acquire knowledge about the historical development of attachment theory and tyhe studies that are presented as the milestone for the attachment theory, 2- To develop understanding about the dynamics of attachment relationships, its effects on adult life, and the mechansim of this effect, 3- To comprehend the role of attachment in the etiology of psychopathology and in the clinical practice, 4- To be able select and apply different attachment measures by considering their pitfalls, appropriateness for certain population, and research purposes.
