Course Objectives The course aims to get students familiar with the basic concepts and theories of learning in psychology.
Course Content Subjects taught at the course include different approaches to learning, basic learning theories ,types of learning
Learning Outcomes (LO) On successful completion of the course students will have gained/acquired: 1-an insight into the nature of experimental approach 2-to be able to explain the basic principles of research methods of learning psychology 3- knowledge about the origins of the perspectives on learning 4-an understanding for basic mechanisms underlying different types of learning 5-knowledge about applications of the basic principles of learning to daily issues

1. Week Introduction: Science and experimental approach, innate behavior patterns, function and definition of learning
2. Week Historical development of learning psychology
3. Week Classical conditioning: Pavlov and basic concepts
4. Week Classical conditioning: Classical conditioning processing paths and the factors that determine classical conditioning
5. Week Classical conditioning: Habituation, sensitization, generalization, extinction, spontaneous return
6. Week Classical conditioning: Theoretical approaches
7. Week Operant conditioning Historical development, Thorndike and the law of influence, Skinner
8. Week Operant conditioning Operative behavior, reinforcement, primary and secondary reinforcements, punishment
9. Week Operant conditioning Behavior modification , differentiation, generalization and extinction
10. Week Operant conditioning reinforcer description
11. Week Cognitive Learning: Tolman and Learning
12. Week Observation Learning: Bandura and social-cognitive theory
