Course Objectives |
The aim of this course is to examine the physical, cognitive, social and emotional patterns of old age with a life-span development perspective. |
Course Content |
The concepts and theories related to aging and period of older adulthood, biological aging, cognitive and socio-emotional changes that occur in older adulthood, changing roles and responsibilities of older adults during their lifetime, common disorders in old age, death and bereavement processes are introduced |
Learning Outcomes (LO) |
The students who attended the course and successfully completed at the end of semester will be able to;
1-define the basic concepts and theories about aging and older adulthood
2-evaluate the research methods and ethical principles related to aging and older adulthood
3-summarize the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social changes seen in the old age
4-define the common disorders in old age
5-evaluate the current research findings on the old age period
6-define the death and bereavement processes |
