Course Objectives In this course seeks to provide information about Human, Human Rights Universal Declaration, European Human Rights treaty, philosophical fundamentals of human rights and democracy. Societal treaty, community-life, the process of change of the principle of human rights and democracy to behavior, from the view of input-process-output in elementary education system.
Course Content Basic concepts of human rights, human rights, citizenship and knowledge of the basic concepts of democracy, understanding of development historical of human rights, understanding of human rights the process of transition to the field international, national and international level of human rights protected, to understand how understanding the importance of the human rights and citizenship education
Learning Outcomes (LO) The students who attended the course and were successful at the end of semester will acquire the followings: 1. Explain the concept of human rights and its historical development. 2. Know basic human rights and international documents and organizations related to human rights. 3. Know the practices of democracy and human rights education in Turkey. 4. Know how democracy and human rights education can be done 5. Evaluate the effectiveness of the practices in democracy and human rights education. 6. Make it a habit to respect democracy and human rights. 7. Raise the awareness of those around themselves about democracy and human rights. 8. Be able to evaluate the current and social areas of human rights.
