Course Objectives This course aims to provide prospective language teachers of English with knowledge and skills of task-based language teaching and learning, and to develop their skills in teaching English grammar and vocabulary in EFL settings.
Course Content Task-based instruction: theories and applications Task based learning and the language teaching curriculum Task-based instruction: pre-task and main task stages Task-based instruction: form focus stage, examination of sample lesson Task-based instruction: designing lesson plans and activities Presentations
Learning Outcomes (LO) The students who attended the course and were successful at the end of semester will acquire the followings; LO1 - Students will be able to critically evaluate and if necessary suggest improvements on observed examples of micro-teaching. LO2 - Students will be able to plan effective lessons considering key factors such as students’ TL proficiency, interests, maturity, etc. LO3 - Students will be able to develop communicative tasks to teach specific areas of English vocabulary. LO4 - Students will be able to develop communicative tasks to teach specific areas of English grammar
