Course Objectives Examination of physical, cognitive, and socio-emotional developmental changes that occur during adolescence. Discussion of adolescent development in different contexts such as parents, peers, school, physical and social environment, and also culture.
Course Content The content of the course includes historical perspectives on adolescence, the nature of adolescence, biological and cognitive aspects of adolescence, self and personality, parent and peer relationships, and psychosocial issues in adolescence. Studies conducted in Turkey on the topics covered in the course will be discussed.
Learning Outcomes (LO) 1. Define and explain concepts related to physical, cognitive and socio-emotional development during adolescence. 2. Discusses identity, parent and peer relationships during adolescence. 3. Understands the theoretical framework of the relevant subject. 4. Transfers current research on the relevant subject.
