Course Objectives The main objective of the course is to improve the students' reading, understanding and comprehension abilities of the psychological issues in english.
Course Content The course can contain study of reading and analyzing various topics in psychology. Specifically, social cognition (the general characteristics of the way people acquire, process and relate to information about themselves and their perceived and real social environment); social behaviour (aggression, attraction, cooperation/altruism and social dilemmas); stress and coping related reading topics are covered in this course. The course also includes related other topics; such as identity; stereotypes/biases; attitudes and attitude change; gender and self.
Learning Outcomes (LO) The students who attended the course and were successful at the end of semester will acquire the followings; 1- To comprehend the description of core concepts of psychology, 2- To understand the articles in applied or academic domains of psychology, 3- To interpret the knowledge about the original studies in psychology 4- Critically to analyze reading materials in psychological articles
