Course Objectives The aim of this course is to provide an overview of the field of clinical psychology, which will be discussed in depth with various compulsory and elective courses in psychology undergraduate education, and to introduce students to basic concepts and approaches in the field of clinical psychology.
Course Content For this purpose, the definition of clinical psychology, academic and applied activities of the clinical psychologist, the development of clinical psychology in the historical process, the relations of clinical psychology with other subfields of psychology and other mental health professions, diagnostic and assessment methods, basic therapy approaches, research methods in clinical psychology, ethical principles in clinical psychology and information on vocational training will be provided.
Learning Outcomes (LO) The achievements of the students who successfully complete this course in the field of clinical psychology are as follows: 1. To know the legal, educational, ethical and personal requirements required to become a clinical psychologist. 2. To know the duties of the clinical psychologist. 3. Recognition and identification of the historical development of clinical psychology and current clinical psychology trends. 4. Identification of the necessary knowledge and skills related to assessment methods and intervention processes such as diagnosis and classification, observation and interview and psychological tests in clinical psychology. 5. To define basic clinical psychology theories and their applications. 6. Identification of ethical principles in the field of clinical psychology
