Course Objectives The aim of this course is giving relevant information about principles in organizing and delivering health service, the right to health, patients’ rights, rights, obligations and liabilities of health workers, and also contributing to human rights awareness.
Course Content In this course, the main concepts of health law and legal regulations on health service, the right to health, patients’ rights are analysed and the righs, obligations and liability of health care professionals, damages causing liability which are occured during execution of health service are explained and discussed.
Learning Outcomes (LO) LO.1. Having knowledge about the concepts in health law. LO.2. Learning the legal nature of health care and the right to health. LO.3. Learning institutions and organizations that provide health services in Turkey. LO.4. Having knowledge about the conditions of legality of medical intervention. LO.5. Assesing the rights and obligations of health workers and patients’ rights. LO.6. Knowing obligations of health care institutions and managers. LO.7. Knowing Nursing Act and Regulations LO.8. Having knowledge about damages caused by the execution of the health service and issues causing liabiltiy in health law. LO.9. Learning legal, criminal, disciplinary liability of health workers.
