School of Nursing Curriculum After 2023


General Information

Ufuk University School of Nursing is one of the colleges established with the law dated 15.12.1999 and numbered 4488 (RG 18.12.1999 / 23910 S). The School started education in the fall semester of the 2005-2006 academic year with 20 students under the founding directorate of Prof. Dr. Refia Palabıyıkoğlu. The department, which gave its first graduates in 2009, still provides undergraduate education. The department, which has a professor, three assistant professors, a doctoral lecturer, a research assistant and four training nurses in its academic staff, continues its education under the direction of the Director of the  School of Nursing, Prof. Dr. Sadi GÜNDOĞDU.

Qualification Awarded

The students who successfully complete the program are awarded the degree of Bachelor of Science in nursing.

Admission Requirements

Students are admitted through the central entrance exam conducted by ÖSYM. General admission requirements apply to both Turkish students and foreign students.

Arrangements for the Recognition of Prior Learning

Students studying at Ufuk University may be exempt from some courses within the framework of certain regulations. If the content of the course taken at another institution is compatible with the content of the course given at Ufuk University and is approved by the relevant faculty/school directorate, the student may be exempt from this course.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

A student is required to successfully complete the designated list of courses and meet the requirement of a minimum of 240 ECTS credits. The student must have a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00 and no falling grades.

Profile of the Programme
  • Program of the nursing school aims training students to gain theoretical and practical knowledge as well as to develop skills and attitudes related to nursing education, administration and research.

  • Either the area of preventing diseases or health maintenance and health promotion the program enables the graduates to pennon the graduates to pennon their roles effiwently, as an educator, researcher, administrator, counsellor and care giver.

2. Uses critical thinking skills and nursing process, a systematic scientific problem-solving method, in defining and solving the health care needs for healthy individuals and patients.

4. Uses information technologies and technological materials, tools and devices in processes of the care and education for healthy individuals and patients.

5. Performs nursing duties within the framework of nursing and health legislation.

6. Leads the professional change process and the development of employees under his/her responsibility.

7.Works in coordination with colleagues and other members of the healthcare team.

8.Uses efficient interpersonal communication skills in the delivery of nursing services.

9. Improves himself/herself both personally and professionally within the philosophy of lifelong learning.

10. Uses a foreign language to the extent that he/she can improve himself/herself professionally and can communicate effectively.

11.Knows the scientific research process at the basic level and participates in research.

12. Meets the health education and counseling needs of the individual, family, and community within the scope of his/her professional responsibilities.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Graduates of the program can work at government or private companies in the field of health sector in the positions of  Nurse Clinician, Director of nursing, Educator Nursing, Supervisor, nurse practitioner, and academician.

Access to Further Studies

Students who graduate from this program can apply to study in postgraduate programs.
