Course Objectives This course aims to give knowledge to the student about the health promotion in elderly and elderly care, to make the student able to consider the geriatric care services within the holistic approach, to gain knowledge, skills, and self-efficacy to increase the quality of life of the older person and to give services about the well-being of the elderly people
Course Content This course investigates the concepts and subjects of elderly health and nursing care.
Learning Outcomes (LO) The students who completed the course successfully will acquire the following: LO -1. Describes the concepts of old age and aging. LO -2. Discusses the demographic structure of the older populations both of the world and our country. LO -3. Counts the most common health problems in the elderly. LO -4. Explains the importance of rational drug use in the elderly. LO -5. Counts the roles and responsibilities of the nurses who care for the older person.
