Course Objectives This course covers the identification of unexpected events and strategies for preventing these events within the context of patient safety in health facilities.
Course Content This course includes the basic concepts of patient safety, international patient safety standards, situations that threaten patient safety, medical errors in health facilities and case examples.
Learning Outcomes (LO) The students who attended the course and were successful at the end of semester will acquire the followings: LO-1 To be able to define basic concepts related to patient safety. LO-2 To be able to count international patient safety goals LO-3 To be able to apply strategies for patient safety in working life. LO-4 To be able to list medical errors and causes in health facilities LO-5 To be able to give care safely to patients in clinic. LO-6 To be able to discuss situations that threaten patient safety
