Course Objectives |
Pharmacology (FAR201) is a course that teaches students which medicine can be used in which disease and provides students with the opportunity to acquire knowledge and attitudes towards applying the right treatment to the right patient, in the right dose and in the right way. |
Course Content |
It aims to provide basic information about drugs that affecting in various systems in the human body (such as GIS, CVS, Endocrine system) as well as General Pharmacology training that explains the properties of drugs and drugs. |
Learning Outcomes (LO) |
By the end of the course the student will be able to:
1- Learn the basic pharmacology concepts, drug shapes and application methods, and learn
the effects of rugs in the body (absorb, distribution, metabolism, elimination)
2- Learn the concept of drug – reception interaction and how the amount of drugs are
decided.
3- Learn the drug interactions, side effects, toxic effects and what to do once these happen.
4- Learn the drugs used in the diseases related to the autonomous neurological system and
neurotransmitters, cardio-vascular and central nervous system.
5. Learn the drugs used in respiratory, digestive, and endocrine systems.
6. Drugs used in anti-rheumatic and non-steroidal and chemotherapeutic drugs. |
