Course Objectives The course aims to provide a deep understanding of sociolinguistic factors and how they influence language use and language teaching. Also, it aims students to develop critical thinking skills to adapt and design language teaching strategies that cater to a multicultural and multilingual classroom.
Course Content This course explores the complexities of language teaching in multicultural environments with an emphasis on the role of multilingualism. Also, the challenges and opportunities presented by diverse linguistic backgrounds and effective strategies for inclusive language teaching are examined.
Learning Outcomes (LO) Students will develop a heightened awareness of diverse cultures and the role of language in shaping cultural identity. Students will enhance their linguistic knowledge and language teaching skills to better accommodate multilingual learners. Students will learn to create inclusive and equitable learning environments that recognize and value the linguistic diversity of their students.
