Course Objectives 1. Improve and reinforce the basic language skills of university students in accordance with their level and needs. 2. Teach the importance of using the elements of language appropriately and what correct and suitable expression is. 3. Teach effective communication skills to individuals and especially teach them the features of mother tongue. 4. Teach to criticize, question, interpret and think in a creative way.
Course Content This course aims to improve language skills that is a base for the communication between people and groups, teach the basic structures and practices of Turkish, teach this language both for written and oral purposes and help students of Teaching Faculty in order to bring up youth with the perception of mother tongue.
Learning Outcomes (LO) 1. Using their mother tongue correctly and efficiently in order to communicate and comprehend better 2. Learning the features and practices of written language and showing with examples 3. Improving vocabulary with the help of texts 4. Gaining the habit of obeying spelling rules and and using punctuation marks appropriately 5. Removing incomprehensibility 6. Gaining the skill of presentation in front of the others and expressing himself/herself in a clear way 7. Writing opinions, experiences and observations, qualifying creating and interpreting skills 8. Being aware of the differences of written text types and having assessment and evaluation skills.
