Course Objectives The aim of this course is to introduce mass communication and its types in English and native languages, to learn the structure and use of mass communication, to compare the use and structure of mass communication with web-based tools and to produce text.
Course Content Basic concepts in mass communication, use and structure of mass communication in English, concepts of text producer and translator, gender roles in mass communication, various news types and structure of news sections, electronic mass media and their use, comparison of domestic mass media and English language mass media. creation of a piece of text for mass communication
Learning Outcomes (LO) At the end of this course, students; 1) They will know the place of English in mass communication. 2) They will know the types and usage of English mass communication. 3) They will be able to understand the text producer and translator. 4) They will understand gendered language in mass communication. 5) They will learn about electronic mass media, their structure and use. 6) They will be able to compare mass communication in their native language and English. 7) They will be able to produce a piece of text for mass communication
