Course Objectives Ensuring that students acquire theories, concepts and practices regarding measurement and evaluation tools, methods and techniques used in education.
Course Content The place and importance of measurement and evaluation in education, basic concepts related to measurement and evaluation, the desired qualities of measurement tools (reliability, validity, usefulness); Measurement tools and their features used in education, tools based on traditional approaches (written exams, short answer exams, true-false type tests, multiple choice tests, paired tests, oral examinations, homework), tools to get to know the student in a versatile way (observation, interview, performance evaluation, student product portfolio, research papers, research projects, peer evaluation, self-evaluation, attitude scales), basic statistical operations on measurement results, evaluation of learning outcomes, grading, developing measurement tools related to the field.
