Course Objectives |
This course aims to improve the foreign/second language teaching skills of prospective teachers. It also provides students with frameworks for thinking about the relationship between classroom interaction and language teaching. |
Course Content |
This course encourages students to discuss and critique the merits of multiple models of teaching, understand what each model requires, and see the methods of language teaching in interaction in the classroom. |
Learning Outcomes (LO) |
Students will come to understand how content and pedagogy are intertwined and best combined to create effective language learning environments. Students will have the opportunity to see how theories of learning and teaching play out in real instructional settings by designing and implementing instructional activities and then evaluating the outcomes of those activities on the basis of student artifacts (i.e., what students say, do, or create). |
