Course Objectives The aim of this course is to teach the basic concepts and theories of pragmatics and the application of the basic concepts and theories of pragmatics to teaching English.
Course Content Basic concepts and theories of pragmatics, application of basic concepts and theories of pragmatics to teaching English
Learning Outcomes (LO) The student lists the similarities and differences between semantics and pragmatics. The student analyzes a speech act. The student classifies and exemplifies situational utterances. The student discusses the applications of basic pragmatics concepts and theories in teaching English. The student prepares activities for teaching speech acts. The student prepares activities for teaching situational utterances. The student prepares tests for speech acts.
