Political Science and International Relations as relatively new fields of science have yielded a new perspective to enable scientists and students to perform broader analyses in social sciences.
The principle goal of this programme is to provide our students with the ability to think analytically and critically as well as comprehending and interpreting the political, social, economic, cultural phenomena and dynamics. Furthermore, in accordance with the Political Science and International Relations Bachelor Programme, our department offers a comprehensive education, enabling our students to obtain a broad perspective on Social Sciences. In this regard, our department is committed to raising individuals with self-awareness and ability to explain the current affairs.
Political Science and International Relations offer synthesis of analyses by bringing together various disciplines. The students of Political Science and International Relations Bachelor Programme in our University, benefit from the interdisciplinary education that is a combination of different areas such as Sociology, Psychology, Statistics, Law, Economics, History and Philosophy. In this department, the students are able to study the essential subjects of Theories of Political Science and International Relations, such as History of Political Thought, International Law, Comparative Politics, International Economics, Regional Politics, The Structure of Turkish Politics and Turkish Foreign Policy comprehensively.
In globalised world where various international organizations and corporations have become widespread, the professional skills such as a broad knowledge on Computer Programmes and Foreign Languages are also perceived as a core element of our curriculum. The students will be benefiting from the academic experiences of both national and international academic exchange programmes. In addition to that, our students and academic stuff are able to transfer their theoretical knowledge to actual and practical facts through conferences, panels and workshops organized by Ufuk University that elaborate on various historical and current affairs.
Through the multi-dimensional analysis skills obtained by the training provided by our Political Science and International Relations Department, our graduates start their professional lives with creative, innovative, inquisitive, productive, conscious, objective, critical-thinking, open-minded visionaries. General Information
Established in the 2002-2003 academic year, the Department of Political Science and International Relations offers a four-year undergraduate program leading to a B.A. degree. The academic staff consists of 3 Professors, 3 Assistant Professors and 4 Research Assistants.

Admission Requirements
Students are accepted through the centrally administered entrance exam conducted by ÖSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center). General admission requirements apply for both Turkish students and students of other nationalities.

Arrangements for the Recognition of Prior Learning
At Ufuk University full-time students can be exempted from some courses within the framework of the related by laws. If the content of the course previously taken in another institution is equivalent to the course offered at Ufuk University, then the student can be exempted from this course with the approval of the related faculty/graduate school after the evaluation of the course content.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
A student is required to successfully complete the designated list of courses and meet the requirement of a minimum of 240 ECTS credits. The student must have a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00 and no falling grades.

In order to graduate from the programme, cumulative GPA must be minimum 2.00. A course grade is constituted by evaluating the above stated elements and given by using letters. Repeating Courses
Students who have received an “FF”, “FD”, “NA”(non-Attendance) or “W” (Withdrawal) in any course or “U” (Unsatisfactory) for non-credited courses must repeat it in the first semester the course is offered again. If a course has a prerequisite the ones who are not successful in the course with prerequisite cannot take that course.Repeating the Semester
Students whose cumulative grade point average is 1.99 and below at the end of the second semester are considered unsuccessful and they cannot enrol courses from upper grade.
