Course Objectives Learners wil be informed about how to gain learning strategies and use them in their academic and private life. Learners are presented reading texts that appeals to their interest and level of proficiency and asked to make presentation about any topics they have chosen. This course is also aimed at giving some strategies to learners about how to express themselves in public. Reading texts are chosen as authentic and up-to-date.
Course Content The course consists of different reading texts that are taken from newspaper, magazines or articles, all of which are considered to teach learners diffrent reading strategies.
Learning Outcomes (LO) The students who attended the course and were successful at the end of semester will acquire the followings; 1- Learners will be able to acquire quick reading strategies that are considered to help them in their academic studies. 2- Learners will be able to make analysis on the texts easliy. 3- Learners will be able to acquire the ability of critical thinking and to make comment about the reading texts and express what they have read or thought in the target language 4- Learners will be able to apply background and cultural knowledge gathered from reading material on daily life and express an opinion on these topics 5- Learners will be able to express themselves in public through some techniques and strategies that they have learnt in the course and to apply all these techniques in any field of their life.
