The goal of the Management Information Systems Department is to train graduates who will meet the need for qualified human resources equipped with the knowledge and skills that businesses need to meet the needs of the global world. To this end, the lessons in the program are designed to combine the theory and practice required to manage an enterprise and implement developments in information technologies. One of the most important goals of the program is to provide students with a training in the direction of the most up-to-date strategic, managerial and sectoral developments they may encounter in business life and to prepare them as executive candidates for the business world by giving them a management and technology vision focused on today's and future business life.

General Information
Established in the 2014-2015 academic year, the Department of Management Information Systems offers a four-year undergraduate program leading to a B.A. degree. The academic staff consists of 2 professors, 1 associate professor, 1 assistent professor and 1 research assistant.

Admission Requirements
Students are accepted through the centrally administered entrance exam conducted by ÖSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center). General admission requirements apply for both Turkish students and students of other nationalities.

Arrangements for the Recognition of Prior Learning
At Ufuk University full-time students can be exempted from some courses within the framework of the related by laws. If the content of the course previously taken in another institution is equivalent to the course offered at Ufuk University, then the student can be exempted from this course with the approval of the related faculty/graduate school after the evaluation of the course content.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
A student is required to successfully complete the designated list of courses and meet the requirement of a minimum of 240 ECTS credits. The student must have a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00 and no falling grades.

With the development and diversification of economic and commercial life in our country, effective management of companies has gained more importance and value. The most important strategic goal of enterprises is to survive by producing new products and services in a global environment where there is intense competition. In order for companies to develop and continue their activities, they must make a profit. This is possible with good managers at work. Professional managers use their knowledge of business management in the most accurate way in practice. With the undergraduate education in Management Information Systems, students are taught theoretical and practical information about all functions of a business and important technologies related to information systems that play a major role in communication, storage and transmission of this information.
Graduated from a multidisciplinary field, MIS has been developing software, system operation, database management, network management, IT security, enterprise resource planning, project management and so on. In order to carry out tasks related to human resources management, accounting, sales and marketing management, production management, customer relationship management, procurement, public relations, R & D and so on. basic business functions can be employed in relevant units, software and consulting companies. MIS has the opportunity to find employment in accounting, personnel departments and tax offices of various governmental institutions, investment and financial institutions, public and private banks, health institutions
It is expected that the students who will graduate from the Department of Management Information Systems will meet the high level of manpower needs compared to other sectors related to administrative and support services, as they will have administrative and technical knowledge and skills to be included in the administrative staff in the enterprises.
The aim of the Management Information Systems department is to train qualified manpower equipped with the knowledge and skills of information and management fields to meet the needs of the global world.
For this purpose, the courses in the program are designed in a structure where the theories and practices needed to manage an enterprise effectively are provided to students through lifelong learning approach supported by current information technologies.
The most important objectives of the program are; to provide students with a training parallel to the technological, managerial and sectoral developments they may encounter in business life, to provide a management and technology vision focused on business life of today and future, and to prepare students as exemplary management information specialists in the business world.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
A variety of assessment methods such as quizzes, mid-term(s), assignment(s), exercise(s), project(s), practice(s), and a final exam are implemented in the programme. Assessment methods may include classical test(s), multiple-choice test(s), homework(s), performance evaluation(s), and product evaluation(s). In order to graduate from the programme, cumulative GPA must be minimum 2.00. A course grade is constituted by evaluating the above stated elements and given by using letters. Repeating Courses
Students who have received an “FF”, “FD”, “NA”(non-Attendance) or “W” (Withdrawal) in any course or “U” (Unsatisfactory) for non-credited courses must repeat it in the first semester the course is offered again. If a course has a prerequisite the ones who are not successful in the course with prerequisite cannot take that course.Repeating the Semester
Students whose cumulative grade point average is 1.99 and below at the end of the second semester are considered unsuccessful and they cannot enrol courses from upper grade. Unsuccessful students may retake the courses they failed or succeeded (CC or under) if they want to until they raise their cumulative grade point average to 2.00.Successful Students

Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate from this undergraduate program, the students are required;
To succeed in all of the courses listed in the curriculum of the program by getting the grade of at least DD/S with a minimum of 240 ECTS.
To have a Cumulative Grade point Average of 2.00 out of 4.00.
To complete their compulsory internship in a specified duration and quality.
