Course Objectives Within the scope of the academic literacy course, it is aimed that the students develop in the fields of thinking, reading, speaking and writing in academic structures and in receiving, managing and producing knowledge to benefit the field of study.
Course Content Academic literacy refers to skills such as explaining, defining, asserting, comparing, making analogies, classifying, accepting/rejecting exemplifying, elaborating, predicting and solving. In this context, the course includes the qualifications of science, the relationship of Political Science and International Relations disciplines with research, scientific research process, scientific project preparation steps, ways of accessing scientific knowledge, article scanning, ethical rules in academia, academic text types, academic text writing and reading processes and academic text analysis.
Learning Outcomes (LO) 1- To be able to comprehend academic texts. 2- To be able to evaluate scientific texts academically. 3- To be able to develop academic reading skills. 4- To be able to design and write a scientific article.
