Business Administration


           In rapidly developing and globalizing business world, businesses come up against complex problems and difficulties more and more. In a highly competitive environment, businesses having good managers are able to accomplish problems and succeed. In this phenomenon, with aim of contributing national requirement, Ufuk University Department of Business Administration opened the undergraduate program in 2002-2003 academic year and graduated its first alumni in 2006. The Department of Business at ufuk University aims to provide privileged education to its students by combining the academic staff with the expertise and strong academic staff in the field and the scientific and universal approach.

            In the first two years of the Department of Business, which aims to raise national and international qualified business managers and entrepreneurs, the four-year undergraduate program of the Department of Business has included courses such as mathematics, statistics, economics, law and computer, and vocational courses have been extended to four years from the first semester.The program also includes elective courses for undergraduates to specialize in their own interested fields. Our students are graduted as individuals having a knowledge to work in every kind of business in the world.  

            Undergraduate Program is carried out by academics each are connoisseurs in their fields. In order to integrate theoretical knowledge with practice, some of the courses are instructed by wise managers and experts of business world.

          

 

General Information

Ufuk University Department of Business Administration was established in 2002. In 2006, the first graduates were given undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate level education. The academic staff consists of 3 professors, 1 associate professor, 1 assistant professor and 2 research assistants.

Qualification Awarded

The students who successfully complete the program are awarded the degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Admission Requirements

Students are accepted through the centrally administered entrance exam conducted by ÖSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center). Arrangements for the Recognition of Prior Learning

At Ufuk University full-time students can be exempted from some courses within the framework of the related by laws. If the content of the course previously taken in another institution is equivalent to the course offered at Ufuk University, then the student can be exempted from this course with the approval of the related faculty/graduate school after the evaluation of the course content.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

In order to graduate, the student must have completed all compulsory and elective courses in the program, and must not have FF or FF2 grade. In this program, the student is required to have a minimum of 240 ECTS credits and a minimum of 2.00 out of 4.00.

The aim of Ufuk University Business Administation program is to prepare open-minded and creative  managers who can take positions in firms' departments like, management, marketing, human resources and finance by considering ethical and moral values.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

A variety of assessment methods such as quizzes, mid-term(s), assignment(s), exercise(s), project(s), practice(s), and a final exam are implemented in the programme. Assessment methods may include classical test(s), multiple-choice test(s), homework(s), performance evaluation(s), and product evaluation(s). Midterm exams, final exams and make- up exams are conducted at the dates specified by the University, at the time and place specified. The final grades of the semester are given by the lecturer/lecturer who is responsible for the course according to the studies and the rules of attendance that the students conduct during the semester with midterm exam, final exam grades and semester exam grades. In order to graduate from the programme, cumulative GPA must be minimum 2.00. A course grade is constituted by evaluating the above stated elements and given by using letters. Letter grades and their associated coefficients are as follows;

Success Grades
The lowest grade to be successful in a credit course is:

  • For associate degree and undergraduate degree students; DD

Repeating Courses
Students who have received an “FF”, “FD”, “NA”(non-Attendance) or “W” (Withdrawal) in any course or “U” (Unsatisfactory) for non-credited courses must repeat it in the first semester the course is offered again. If a course has a prerequisite the ones who are not successful in the course with prerequisite cannot take that course.

Repeating the Semester
Students whose cumulative grade point average is 1.99 and below at the end of the second semester are considered unsuccessful and they cannot enrol courses from upper grade. Unsuccessful students may retake the courses they failed or succeeded (CC or under) if they want to until they raise their cumulative grade point average to 2.00.

Successful Students
Students whose Cum GPA are at least 2.00 in any semester are considered successful. 

Graduation Requirements

In order to graduate from this undergraduate program, the students are required;

To succeed in all of the courses listed in the curriculum of the program by getting the grade of at least DD/S with a minimum of 240 ECTS.

To have a Cumulative Grade point Average of 2.00 out of 4.00.

To complete their compulsory internship in a specified duration and quality.
