Course Objectives |
Helping students to understand the theories of using literature in the language classroom, showing how the figurative usage of language in a literary work can expand the students' language awareness and interpretative abilities. |
Course Content |
Selected examples from British and American short fiction will be presented and analyzed by using different approaches to teaching literature (language based approach, stylistics, literature as content) |
Learning Outcomes (LO) |
The students who attended the course and were successful at the end of semester will acquire the followings:
1. identify the role of literature in language teaching.
2. identify the role of literature in culture teaching.
3. analyze literary texts as materials to be used in language classes.
