Course Objectives This course aims to provide the necessary infrastructure for teachers to know individuals with special needs, to have the necessary knowledge in planning their education, and to correctly guide students with special needs but not yet diagnosed.
Course Content Basic concepts about special education; principles and historical development of special education; legal regulations regarding special education; diagnosis and evaluation in special education; individualization of instruction; inclusion and support special education services; family participation in education and cooperation with the family; characteristics of different disability and ability groups; educational approaches and teaching strategies for different groups; Effective strategies and behavior management in classroom management.
Learning Outcomes (LO) The achievements of students who complete and succeed in this course are as follows: 1. Knows the basic concepts in special education. 2. Knows the diagnostic groups. 3. Knows intervention and education strategies in special education. 4. Makes the necessary practices to individualize education.
