Course Objectives Recognizing the teaching profession with its approach to serving society. To have knowledge about the management, operation and project planning of community service applications. Project development for community service applications/implementation by contributing to a project under development.
Course Content Community Service Practices is a course based on practices carried out in the form of projects, apart from the courses given in formal and non-formal education institutions, that enables the teacher candidate to get to know the field in which he will practice, the individuals (society segment) to be served, different projects, institutions and organizations in general. The aim of this course is for the teacher candidate to get to know society and the teaching profession in terms of service to society, to have the sensitivity to examine the courses they will take in the undergraduate program from a social perspective, and to develop social responsibility awareness. This course is compulsory in all teacher training programs and is given for one semester. It may cover two semesters if necessary. In this course, prospective teachers are expected to identify current problems of the immediate surrounding society and develop projects for solutions. Teacher candidates are also expected to participate in scientific events such as panels, conferences, congresses and symposiums as spectators, speakers or organizers within the scope of this course.
Learning Outcomes (LO) 1. Being able to develop collaborative working skills 2. Being able to design projects to produce solutions to social problems 3. Being able to implement these projects and evaluating their results 4. Being aware of various problems in society and developing sensitivity to these problems 5. Understanding the importance of community service practices 6. Determining the current problems of the society . 7. Organizes various events within the scope of community service practices. 8. First of all, it researches the needs of the society in its immediate surroundings, raises awareness of its surroundings, prepares projects and supports the prepared projects.
