Course Objectives The aim of this course is to introduce the various Englishes of the world, their features and uses, and to enable students to use linguistic resources to communicate globally.
Course Content World Englishes, English as an International Language, English as a Lingua Franca, standardized English, Englishes in inner, outer and expanding circles, writing in English languages, Globalization and its impact on World Englishes
Learning Outcomes (LO) At the end of the course, students; 1) They will gain a critical understanding of the basic concepts of World Englishes and the extent of language changes 2) They will demonstrate awareness of global Englishes 3) They will gain the capacity to critically evaluate varieties of English and online Englishes 4) The ability to evaluate the relationship between globalization and its impact on World Englishes improves.
