Course Objectives This course focuses on the characteristics of Turkish and aims to provide students the rules and the basic knowledge about Turkish.
Course Content This course provides development in the awareness of Turkish and emphasizes the importance of language - thought relationship.
Learning Outcomes (LO) The students who attended the course and were successful at the end of semester will acquire the followings; 1- will be able to define the language concept, 2- will be able to have an idea about the languages in the world, 3- will be able to express themselves correctly, 4- will be able to prepare official documents, 5- will be able to have oral or written presentation.

3. Week Mother tongue, official language, accent, dialect, jargon and special languages (professional and group languages), speaking language and pronunciation of Turkish

7. Week The status of Turkish today, foreign words and abbreviations in Turkish and mistakes in language usage
