Course Objectives Objective of the course is to provide students with knowledge on the topics like the historical phases and changes of German Foreign Policy from the imperial period till today, Germany's position in areas such as human rights, energy and environment, Germany's place in global politics, especially her relations with the European Union, the USA, Third World Countries and Turkey, and the foreign policy strategies followed by Germany today.
Course Content The course includes Germany's nation building, her main political goals in the World Wars, German foreign policy orientations during and after the Cold War, her diplomatic initiatives on issues such as human rights, energy and environment, Germany's relations with the European Union, the USA, Third World Countries and Turkey, and the foreign policy strategies that Germany carries out today.
Learning Outcomes (LO) Students taking the course: 1. Will be able to analyze the historical phases and current situation of German Foreign Policy. 2. Will be able to examine the reasons and objectives of Germany's foreign policy initiatives. 3. Will be able to draw projections for the future by examining the factors that are effective in Germany's foreign relations. 4. Will be able to have detailed knowledge about Turkish - German Relations.
