Course Objectives |
To provide a broader view of the Turkish foreign policy implementations; a better understanding of the applied strategies. To separate the foreign policy time table into smaller time periods and identify the role of the major events, changes and effects at work within each period. |
Course Content |
The course covers the historical background of the Turkish Foreign Policy including the impact of the changing political environment and the new global trends effecting the policy formation in Turkey. Different phases of the Turkish Foreign policy is analized to determine the dominant factors, global trends or changes. Studies include the analysis of political motives behind major decisions and the methods to improve the foreighn policy implementaıon and strategies in the coming years. |
Learning Outcomes (LO) |
1- To identify & understand major factors, concerns and security issues effecting formation of Turkish Foreign policy.
2- To compare and to understand the use of the hard and soft power instruments in making of Turkish foreign policy
3- To be able to analyze the crises and political developments of current Turkish foreign policy and try to determine the most appropriate methods and solutions for crises management. |
