Course Objectives The fist part of the course taking place in the Fall Semester aims to analyse significant texts in the history of political thought from Ancient Greece to the Eighteenth Century and scrutinize how thinkers deal with main questions regarding political and social order.
Course Content In reviewing main concepts of political science, this course introduces theoretical frameworks of major political thinkers including Philsophers of Nature, Sophists, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Machiavelli, More, Bodin, Hobbes, Locke and Rousseau to students.
Learning Outcomes (LO) 1- Understanding how political thought develops within the historical process; 2- Comprehending the ways in which thinkers living in this period handle topics like justice, liberty, human nature, individual-the state relationship; 3- Being aware of the importance of Political Philosophy for Political Science
