Course Objectives At the end of this course • To explain the principles of project management • Understand Project Life Cycle / Periods • recognize and use Project Scheduling Techniques • Know Project Control Mechanisms • Understand Team Management • Be able to understand the importance of project documentation and evaluation • Know the available software for Project Management.
Course Content These derste students are introduced to the basic concepts, frameworks, methodologies, techniques and tools for developing the skills of managing and developing information systems by introducing the principles, processes and concepts in software project management. Students are informed about planning techniques, organization, planning and control software projects. Software cost estimation and software risk management are strongly emphasized. Students are given experience about project identification and project management techniques within a software project. Within the scope of the project, application opportunities are given for the establishment of communication, management of project changes, distributed software teams and managing projects.
Learning Outcomes (LO) At the end of this course students; 1) Explain basic concepts related to project and project management 2) Identify phases in project life cycle 3) Understand the causes of failure and critical success factors in projects 4) Gain the ability to integrate management information and technical details in project management process 5) Understands the techniques used in project planning process 6) Gain the ability to apply the techniques used in the project planning process
