Course Objectives The main purpose of this course is providing students to the basic concepts of economics and producer and consumer behavior.
Course Content During the course, students will be taught to act rationally as a producer and/or a consumer.
Learning Outcomes (LO) The students who attended the course and were successful at the end of semester will acquire the followings; 1- will be able to understand the inportance of economics in society, 2- will be able to consider economic situations in their daily lives, 3- will be able to optimize the benefits in individual decisions.

1. Week Basic conceptual and definitions. Common economic problems of societies.
2. Week Analysis of economic issues, methodology.
3. Week Price mechanism, law of demand, law of supply, geometric analysis.
4. Week Supply and demand elasticity, government intervention.
5. Week Theory of consumer behavior.
6. Week Theory of producer and firm behavior.
7. Week Cost and profit calculation. Firm balance, maximum profit, normal profit and loss
8. Week Types of Markets, Theory of Perfect Competition.
9. Week Types of Markets, Theory of Perfect Competition (continued).
10. Week Theory of monopoly and oligopoly.
11. Week Monopolistic competition and advertising
12. Week Factor prices, redistribution theorem.
13. Week Free market; efficiency of market and price mechanism.
14. Week Current economic issues, review.
