Course Objectives The main aim of this course is to teach students fundamental statistical approaches and make them aware of the usage of SPSS.
Course Content Studying fundamental statistical approaches and SPSS.
Learning Outcomes (LO) The students who attended the course and were successful at the end of semester will acquire the followings; 1. knows basic terms of statistics. 2. be able to carry out the statistical stage of a research. 3. be aware of the usage of SPSS and implement it easily. 4. pays attention to the validity and reliability while carrying out a research.

1. Week The basic concepts related with Statistics and Research (Cross-Sectional Statistics, Parametric and Non-parametric Techniques, the Stages of Hypothesis Test, the Necessary conditions to be considered in choosing the different analyzing techniques, etc.)
2. Week Introduction to SPSS: Basic Commands and Menus • Input • Study of the normality of distribution • Outlier sifting
3. Week Correlation (Pearson Moments Product, Phi, Tetrakorik, Double Sequence, Point Double Sequenced Spearman, etc The factors affecting Correlation Coefficiency)
4. Week Validity and Reliability concepts • Validity and Reliability Analysis (Item Total Correlation, Halving the Test, Re-Test Test)
5. Week Validity and Reliability Analysis (Factor analysis)
6. Week Validity and Reliability Analysis (Factor analysis)
7. Week Regration Analysis (Simple Linear Regration and Multiple Regration)

9. Week Comparison of two averages (Single Sample Test)
10. Week Comparison of two averages (T Test for unrelated samples and Mann-Whitney U Test)
