Course Objectives This course aims to enable students to learn the basic concepts, theories, principles and techniques of career counseling and guidance.
Course Content This course includes the basic concepts of career counseling and guidance, the main stages of the career selection process, the place and importance of profession and choice of profession in human life, the historical development of career choice assistance services, the factors affecting choice of profession, developing activities for career development, theories about choice of profession and career development, career counseling process, principles and techniques of career counseling.
Learning Outcomes (LO) At the end of this course, the student; Explain the concepts related to career counseling and guidance. Explain the place and importance of profession and choice of profession in human life. Knows the historical development of career choice assistance services. Examines national and international literature on career counseling and guidance. Explain the factors affecting the choice of profession. Explain the theories about the choice of profession and career development. Develops supportive activities for career development. Knows the principles and techniques of career counseling and guidance. Recognizes the role in the career counseling and guidance process. Provides assistance to individuals in their choice of profession and professional development process.
