Course Objectives The aim of the course “Gender Equality” is to analyse, theoretically, gender related issues and current problems; and also to discover the path towards gender equality.
Course Content The course “Gender Equality” includes analysing gender related terms, theories and models on gender, gender roles, gender stereotypes, researches on gender issues, the relationship between gender and education, history of the path towards gender equality.
Learning Outcomes (LO) The students who attends and are successful at the end of semester will acquire the followings: 1. Be able to define the terms “gender” and “gender equality”. 2. Raise awareness on gender roles and gender stereotypes and discuss about their results. 3. Be able to discover cultural and historical backgrounds of gender related inequality. 4. Be able to evaluate and comment on gender issues in the light of contemporary developments.
